The parish council has installed two Speed Indicator Devices in the village.
The signs will activate when the speed reaches 27mph (displaying only the speed). Once the speed surpasses 30mph, the SLOW DOWN warning (accompanied by the speed) will appear. The speed display will cease once it exceeds 40mph, showing only SLOW DOWN.
The SID will not show any speed above 40mph to stop anyone from racing to see how high a speed they can record.
Both devices are Bluetooth enabled to allow the police, and parish council, to download data showing whether there are any days/times when speeding is excessive. This will allow the police to attend and issue speeding tickets if necessary.
