Have your say, don't 'lose' your vote.

WC is reminding residents that there is less than a week to go until the local elections on 1 May.

The polls will be open from 7am – 10pm and people can find their local polling station at Find your polling station | Where Do I Vote? by simply entering their postcode.

Postal votes have been issued to those who have applied. People are asked to return these in good time. If people can't send their postal vote in the post, they can only hand it in at County Hall reception where they will be asked to fill out a form upon arrival. Alternatively, people can drop off their postal vote at their polling station on polling day but should be mindful that polling stations will be busy and there will be some paperwork to complete. Any postal votes put in the post boxes at Bourne Hill (Salisbury), County Hall (Trowbridge) or Monkton Park (Chippenham) will be rejected.

If people are planning to vote in a polling station they must bring photo ID. If they don’t have photo ID they won’t be able to vote.

Accepted forms of photo ID include a driver’s license, a passport and for the first time a veteran’s card. For a full list of acceptable forms of ID people should visit Accepted forms of photo ID | Electoral Commission.

If people don’t have photo ID and have applied for a Voter Authority Certificate then they should bring that with them.
