Several small events were held in the village.

Hilperton remembered the end of the war in Europe 80 years ago in a variety of ways.

The village hall had a sing-along evening, St. Michael's pre-school had a 'street party', the Scounts lit a beacon on the village hall playing field, and the bell ringers rang on VE Day evening.

Well done to them all and to anyone else who organized an event.

Hopefully, VJ Day will be remembered in August.
