Wiltshire Council will be upgrading the pedestrian and cyclist crossing on the B3105 Leap Gate in Trowbridge, between the junctions with Hackett Place and Painters Mead, to improve safety, as the current crossing has reached the end of its life.

The work will begin on Monday 28 July and is expected to take three weeks to complete. Multi-way temporary traffic signals, including a temporary signalised crossing, will be in place throughout the works to manage traffic.

The improvements include removing outdated infrastructure and upgrading the existing toucan crossing to the latest technology. The work will also include updated road markings, including a controlled zone with zig-zag lines, to bring the crossing in line with current safety standards.

This project is part of the council’s wider programme to modernise traffic signal infrastructure across the county.
