Wiltshire Council has apologised to road users for the delays experienced in Trowbridge as a result of the Longfield Gyratory improvement works.
Following the closure of the southbound County Way on Friday 23 January, there have been delays at peak times on and around the gyratory.
The council has been closely monitoring the traffic situation and has made significant adjustments to the traffic signal timings on the gyratory. These changes have already delivered a noticeable improvement in traffic flow. However, there was a fault with the signals on Wednesday morning which temporarily affected vehicle movements and caused delays, but this has now been resolved, and the revised signal timings will continue to improve journey times and reduce congestion.
The County Way southbound closure will remain in place until 6 February. Then, from 9 February to 20 March, northbound County Way will be closed and vehicles will be unable to travel northbound from Bradley Road or Dursley Road towards the Longfield Gyratory.
A signed diversion route is in place, supported by advance warning signage positioned around the outskirts of the town to guide drivers to appropriate alternative routes.
