Hackett Place planning appeal decision.
Another green space will disappear.
The site is the fenced area to the west of the primary school and north of the cricket pitch.
Hilperton Parish Council objected to the application and the WWDC planning committee refused it as, in their opinion,it would disrupt the openness of the local centre area and because WWDC policy requires development of brownfield sites to take priority over greenfield ones.
The inspector's decision has now been published and the appeal is allowed, so the developer is now able to build housing on this land, up to a maximum of 25 units. There are a number of other conditions covering landscaping and the need to consider the badgers who live nearby.
As it was an outline application the developer now needs to submit detailed plans.
Many thanks to all those who supported Trevor and I by objecting to the application.
