...Hospital site to support future care provision.
Wiltshire Council has acquired the former Trowbridge Hospital site as part of its long-term strategy to invest in modern, fit-for-purpose care accommodation that meets the needs of Wiltshire residents both now and in the future.
The council recognises that increasing numbers of people are living longer and with more complex health conditions, including dementia. As demand for specialist care continues to grow, it is important that local facilities are able to provide high-quality care and support in environments designed to meet changing needs.
The acquisition of the site represents a significant investment in Wiltshire's future care infrastructure and will help support the council's ambitions to ensure residents can access the right care, in the right place, at the right time. It builds on the council's £3m investment in the nearby health and care facility Trowbridge Integrated Care Centre, demonstrating a continued commitment to developing modern health and care facilities that meet the needs of local communities.
The council will now begin the necessary work to explore options for the site and develop proposals. As plans progress, local residents, stakeholders and community organisations will be engaged and kept informed throughout the process.
