Hosepipe ban now in place.

A temporary hosepipe ban is now in force for all Wessex Water supply customers, having come into effect on Tuesday 18 August at 00:01hrs. The restrictions have been introduced following prolonged dry weather, repeated heatwaves and exceptionally high demand for water across the region.
While there remains sufficient water for essential daily needs such as drinking, cooking and washing, the company is experiencing unprecedented pressure on its network and is asking customers to help conserve water wherever possible.
Under the restrictions, you must not use a hosepipe for activities such as:

Watering gardens, lawns and plants

Washing private vehicles

Cleaning patios, paths, driveways and other outdoor surfaces

Filling or maintaining paddling pools and swimming pools

Filling ornamental fountains and ponds
You can still use watering cans, buckets and water collected in water butts. Some exemptions apply, including certain circumstances relating to health, disability, animal welfare and business use.
