'People power' grasps the nettle!
Option 1 of the 'Issues and Options' document, which will define the way west Wiltshire develops over the next twenty years or so, shows up to 88 hectares of land for housing and other uses on land to the east of Marsh Road.

A worried resident is circulating literature which includes a template letter for people to reply to the district council, pointing out how the proposal would overload the local infrastructure and impact on both wildlife and the local environment. Whilst this is better than no response at all, an 'individual' letter is the best option.

NOW is the time to ensure that the Hilperton Gap, Marsh Road and Devizes Road are not allocated for yet more housing. These are issues that I feel strongly about and I will fight against any of the three sites being allocated.

The consultation ends on February 29th and a lack lustre response from Hilperton residents would be interpreted by planners, developers and land owners as 'agreement' with their suggestions. A strong response objecting to the sites might encourage WWDC to drop these ridiculous ideas at an early stage of the consultation process.
