Lib Dem suffers short-term memory loss.
What a short memory some politicians have ...
It would seem that the Lib Dem candidate for the Holt & Paxcroft WCC by-election tomorrow is also against the increase - as well he should be.
However, it seems that his memory must be somewhat 'short term'. He comments that the rise is unreasonable (which it is) and then goes on to berate the Conservatives for proposing such a huge hike (I agree with him).
What he forgets to mention is that for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 financial years, he was the finance portfolio holder at WWDC and what council tax increases did he force on us? Just below 5% on each occassion! I voted against both times as the amount seemed too high.
I wonder why Clr. Carbin thinks 5% increases are okay when he imposes them on us, but 5% from someone else is wrong? I think the phrase 'the pot calling the kettle black' is very fitting here and shows how the party politicians sing different tunes as it suits them!
