Speeding in Hilperton - mixed news.
Good(ish) news for Marsh Road, not so for Leap Gate.
Marsh Road.
The Safety Camera Partnership has confirmed that Marsh road remains a 'core site' and will continue to get regular visits. Statistics show that the average speed has fallen to 31.7 mph, whilst the 85th percentile (the top 15 speeding results) has fallen from 39 to 36.7 mph. An average of 52.4% of vehicles break the speed limit.
Leap Gate.
12.31% of drivers exceed the speed limit. This figure is deemed to be too low for camera enforcement. The 85th percentile here was 39.1 mph, the average speed of those in excess of the speed limit was 43.4 mph whilst the average speed for all vehicles was 34.6 mph. Accordingly, any enforcement will have to be 'local' rather than via safety camera vans.
