Imminent action on Leigh Road flooding.
Wiltshire County Council has now promised to act quickly to resolve the matter. Field ditches will be cleared by local farmers, and repairs will be made to various blocked drains.

As part of the work, Wessex Water will re-route a main which is partially blocking the drain pipe at the junction of The Street & Leigh Road. On the other side of the road repairs will be made to drains and man-holes where tree roots have been invading the system.

The original intention had been to do the work at the same time as the installation of the new roundabout at The Tollgate junction. However, that is now unlikely to happen until early 2009, so the work will be carried out separately.
