The Labour government does it again ...
It would seem that the government is going to make owners of larger cars bought since March 2001 pay far more for their road fund licences in the future.

When Gordon Brown was Chancellor, his 2006 Budget introduced a band G rate of road fund for cars that emit more than 225g of carbon dioxide per kilometre - but he said that no car registered before March 23, 2006 would have to pay the band G rate. Included in this class are certain models of people carriers such as the Zafira, Espace, Galaxy etc. etc.

It would now seem that the Treasury is quietly abolishing the exemption for older cars from the highest rates of duty.

You can find how much CO2 your car produces on the registration document (V5c) under "vehicle details" and then check the rate for that emission level at this link. You will then need to scroll well down the page until you find Table A.8a

No wonder people don't trust most politicians!!
