An application goes to WWDC planning committee next week.
07/03864.

This is Gallaghers outline planning application for about 190 houses on land to the east of Moyle Park/Orpington Way with access through the existing roads onto Leap Gate.

Myself and Trevor Carbin have called this application for consideration by the planning committee and, in addition, Hilperton and Steeple Ashton Parish Councils and Trowbridge Town Council have objected to the application.

There has been some confusion at WWDC about where the site actually lies. Originally, councillors were told it was in Steeple Ashton parish and so Steeple Ashton parish council produced a detailed analysis of potential problems it might generate. However we are now informed the site is mostly in Trowbridge, with a small part in Hilperton!

Planning officers are recommending permission despite the application not being fully in accordance with the Local Plan. Over 48 objectioins have been lodged, so it should be an interesting debate.

07/01911.

This is the application for the old Ushers bottling plant in Trowbridge. The application is for a (Sainsburys) supermarket, other shops, residential development and car parking.
<>br>The application is recommended for permission and, if the committee agrees, it then has to go the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government - more delay.

In addition the developer of the Peter Black site is quoting legal case law as to why the application shouldn't be looked at in isolation. This too should prove to be an interesting debate for the committee to get their teeth into.
