Wiltshire crime figures for 2007-08.
Wiltshire is till a safe place to live.
Total crime: 44,587 offences (down 1% on the previous year.)
Violence against the person: 8,142 (-6%)
Sexual offences: 563 (-2%)
Robbery: 343 (-6%)
Burglary: 4,951 (-4%)
Offences against vehicles: 5,119 (+1%)
Other theft offences: 11,386 (+7%)
Fraud and forgery: 2,081 (+28%)
Criminal damage: 10,929 (-6%)
Drug offences: 717 (-26%)
Other offences: 356 (-23%)
It is interesting to note the large increase (both as a percentage and as 'actual' numbers) for fraud and forgery, but good to see that most figures show a decrease from 06-07.
