All the variious planning matters were decided last night.
The request by Marston Inns to have the section 106 agreement varied at Paxcroft Mead Local Centre was, again, refused by the planning committee. This means that although there is extant planning permissions for a pub at the local centre, the legal agreement for a medical facility overrides the planning permission. Marston will undoubtedly throw their toys out of the pram at this (fourth) decision not to see things their way. I am very grateful to the committee members for supporting my stand to try and keep the possibility of medical facilities on Paxcroft Mead alive. As the saying goes "We'll see you in court".

In Semington, the application for a caravan site next to the crematorium was approved. The permission is for three years and Semington's district councillor (Virginia Fortescue) felt able to vote in favour of the application. It was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make whilst on the planning committee, but I had concerns about several aspects of the proposal and felt, on balance, that I could not support it.
