The 'recession' claims another victim ...
They advised TRFC that due to the current economic conditions in the building trade, coupled with the financial expectations of the section 106 requirements of the planning conditions, they are unable to proceed with the purchase of the Green Lane ground as it is not a viable proposition for them at this time.

They still wish to continue with the project but they are delaying everything until the situation improves. TRFC do not know how long this will be.

The rugby club is keen to retain the conditional planning approval given to both the current and new ground (at Hilperton) and will be exploring other ways of raising the money to make the move to the new ground.

TRFC regrets that it will have to put everything on hold for the immediate future meaning the community will not get a new sporting facility nor the housing at Green Lane yet.

Whilst this is bad news for some, the residents of Devizes Road may take a different view as they have ongoing concerns regarding increased traffic if/when the new facilities are built.
