Work to start soon to deter travellers from stopping at Little Marsh.
WCC is gearing-up to start the work shortly, possibly within the next couple of weeks. The Environment Agency have got back to the WCC contractors and there appears to be no problem with the fill which WCC will be using.

Stone fill will be removed from the WCC depot at Semington Roundabout and used to create a core mound. Topsoil will also be brought across to go over the mound, this will then be grass seeded. The mound will reduce the existing road width by half which will give the farmers enough width to access their fields.

Wider gaps will be left near the field entrances to allow farm vehicles sufficient width to turn in and out. Also, gaps have been left around BT covers to allow them to access the covers.

Before the works start the WCC Uni-mog will cut back the verge growth on the side they are going to fill to ensure that all the BT covers are exposed.

As yet, I don’t have an exact start date.

WCC will also ensure the section of ditch at the other site near Semington roundabout is cleared whilst they have diggers on site.
