Parish Council to consider housing scheme.
Affordable housing for Hilperton families could be just down the road.
The scheme is for 12 rented homes and, as this is an 'exception site' (i.e. outside the village policy limit), if permission is granted the homes will be let via choice based lettings to those with a local connection e.g. those households that already live in the area, have a family connection, or work in the area. This would have to be evidenced by the applicant.
The scheme would be a mix of two and three bedroom houses and apartments.
There is a strong demand within the village for affordable homes - according to the council there are 135 households with a strong local connection to the village in housing need.
Attending the meeting will be Carol Southall (Rural Housing Enabler), Graham Dorrington (BBA Architects), plus Mick Latham and Paul Walsh of Selwood Housing.
The meeting is, as ever, open to the public and is held in the committee room at the village hall commencing at 7.30pm.
