However, their maximum bid at auction was easily topped by the £20k of the successful purchaser who sees the land as a possible site for affordable housing.

I understand that the purchaser is London based which would mean that he will have to consult with a Registered Social Landlord to drive his scheme forward.

As the land is outside the village policy limit for Hilperton the housing, if it gets planning permission, would be regarded as an 'exception site' which means that preference for tenants would have to be given to people with a Hilperton connection.
