The Government has been successful in moving the election date.
As a result the date of local elections in Wiltshire in 2009 will be the same as the date of the European Parliamentary elections, which are planned to take place on 4 June 2009.

This change is convenient for the pen pushers and to the benefit of the political parties who won't now have to run two election campaigns in quick succession.
