Happy New Year.
Welcome to 2009.
During 2009 the brave new world of Wiltshire Council (WC) will lumber into place together with its Area Boards.
The ramifications for local democracy cannot be under estimated.
I sincerely hope that the political parties will not put candidates forward for election who have been 'encouraged' to stand at bar-b-ques or dinner parties. It sounds outlandish but I assure you it has happened in the past.
When the WC election campaign starts please read the literature that you receive. Hopefully, your vote will go to a person that can represent YOU and not some whimsical theme forced on them by their party whip at County Hall!
