Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

Don't be deterred by newspaper stories.
It's been alleged that councils have been taking recyclable material to landfill sites or incinerating it due to its current low financial value.

Cllr. Graham Hedley, who sits on the WWDC Scrutiny Committee, has been investigating, and has asked for confirmation that that is not happening in Wiltshire and that all the recyclable material, whether put by the kerbside, taken to recycling centres or via 'bring sites' is actually recycled.

According to WWDC's waste and recycling section and Hills, the recycled waste contractors, the answer is that in Wiltshire all the recyclable waste collected is being recycled and sold.

None is going to landfill, nor is it being stockpiled.
