Possible housing developments along Marsh Road.
Two potential housing sites have come to light in Hilperton.
The old nursery site.
A planning application has now been made by Selwood Housing Society to build twelve dwellings on part of this site. As the site is outside the Hilperton Village Policy Limit (VPL) all the housing would have to be ‘affordable’ (for rent) with preference being given to people with a proven local connection. The application must comply with policy H22 of the district council local plan.
This application is on the agenda for the meeting of Hilperton Parish Council, which takes place on Tuesday at 7.30pm in the committee room at the village hall in Whaddon Lane. The parish council does not actually decide whether or not planning permission is granted, but will send its opinion back to the district council.
303 – 305 Marsh Road.
Westlea Housing Association is proposing to develop this site and will be holding a public exhibition at Hilperton village hall on Wednesday between 3.00 and 7.00pm. The sketch scheme they have at the moment is for 17 properties with tenure to be discussed with the district council. As this scheme is within the VPL the housing can be a mixture of ‘affordable’ (to rent), ‘private purchase’ or, possibly, ‘shared equity’.
If you would like more information on either of these schemes, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
