A special meeting of Holt Parish Council has been called.
Holt residents are welcome to attend the meeting in the United Reform Church hall at 7.30pm (to be confirmed). As is normal there will be an opportunity for members of the public to speak before the meeting formally starts.

The proposed site is an 'exception site'. This means that the land is outside the Village Policy Limit and so houses would not normally be allowed. However, certain exceptions can be made, and one of these is for affordable housing. However, such developments are covered by policy H22 of the district plan which states that they can only proceed if a need for social housing in the village has been established and that need cannot be met by other means.

If the scheme goes ahead the houses would be available to families in housing need with a connection to Holt. All normal planning rules also have to be considered.

If the parish council objects to the application then it will have to go to the district planning committee if the planning officer at WWDC is in favour of the project.
