More roads to be gritted overnight.
Wiltshire County Council to help traffic get moving on Monday morning [For Immediate Release] The county council will be salting just strategic routes tonight (Sunday, 8th February). In the early hours of tomorrow morning the primary network, which includes all A and B roads as well as some important C roads, will be salted.

Ploughing and gritting will continue where necessary, however the advice for the public is to think twice before travelling, and assume that roads have not been treated.

After a period or rain this evening, freezing conditions are expected, so roads that are not part of the primary network could still be hazardous and additional care should be taken on these routes.

A map of these routes is available here.

The situation in Wiltshire has been helped by some mutual aid from Devon County Council, which offered 500 tonnes, and Hampshire County Council, which offered 100 tonnes, of salt.
