'Land north east of Green Lane' goes to appeal.
The date has been set for a Public Inquiry.
The application was objected to by Hilperton Parish Council and refused by the district council planning committee for various reasons.
The applicant, as is their right, has opted for the planning appeal to be dealt with by means of a Public Inquiry. As a result of this, whoever loses will face quite a stiff legal bill.
Since April 2008, WWDC has incurred costs in the region of £150k at sundry appeals. Whilst this might seem a large sum, the only option is to allow developers to ride rough shod over the local area and never refuse any of their large planning applications.
Whilst I'm a firm believer in not wasting money, I also believe that some things are worth fighting for even if public money is at stake.
