Planning committee approves East of Trowbridge.
More 'high' density housing for Paxcroft Mead.
Since then, the developers have been negotiating with council planners in an attempt to get the permission amended and give them a more profit. (Please see earlier postings).
As posted a few days ago, the most important change is an increase in the number of houses from 550 to 650.
Last night the WWDC planning committee discussed the variation and Trevor Carbin proposed, and I seconded, that the revised density should be refused. However, by a majority vote the councillors 'rolled over' for Persimmon and allowed the increase in houses.
Those voting for the application were Cllrs. Burden, Fortescue, Halik, James, March, Mounde and Phillips They presumably saw no problem with the adverse impact on existing and future residents and the inadequate infrastructure.
If you are represented by one of these councillors who, incidentally, are nearly all Conservative, you might like to ask them exactly what aspirations they have with regard to living conditions for people.
