Speeding through 30 MPH areas.
Why the council cannot install 'repeater' speed limit signs.
Apparently, the problem is because both roads have street lights. As the law stands, repeater signs can only be installed for speed limits other than 30 MPH in lit aresa, or 30 MPH un-lit roads.
The theory is that every driver should presume that any lit street has a 30 MPH limit unless they see signs to the contrary.
It is one of many situations where the law is an ass, but we appear to have no option other than to live with it.
