Staverton Marina mystery.
What are the developers doing at The Marina?
Back in early 2004 two applications were made by Charles Church and Persimmon, relating to land at Staverton Marina (applications 04/00874 and 5). These were recommended for approval by the planning department at WWDC, but the planning committee supported 'refusal' as proposed by myself and Cllr. Carbin. These applications are now the subject of appeals by the developers.
This week, however, two new applications have been lodged (05/00068 and 9) which have similar details. I haven't had a chance to look at the full files but I wonder what is going on?
Could it be that the developers are hoping that the planning committee will perform a 'u turn' on these new applications (because of the threat of costs if the original, refused, applications go to appeal, and the inspector finds against WWDC)?
