Vote reminder for house movers.
Don't lose your right to vote on 4th June.
If you have moved house since last autumn, you need to make sure you update your details with your Electoral Registration Officer by Tuesday
19 May if you want to vote for your new Wiltshire Council on 4 June.
Some people think that you are automatically registered once you move
house or pay council tax, but that isn't the case.
It will be the very first elections to the new council which replaces the former district and county councils in Wiltshire. Voters will be electing 98 councillors to the new unitary authority.
"Registering to vote is important because it means you can have a say
on the local issues that affect you, from roads to recycling. We want to make sure that no-one misses out on their right to take part in these
elections just because they aren't registered to vote," says Dr Keith Robinson, Electoral Registration Officer for Wiltshire Council.
If you're not sure whether you are on the electoral register or would like to be sent a registration form, contact your local council on 0300 456 0112 or visit www.wiltshire.gov.uk. You can also visit
www.aboutmyvote.co.uk, where you can download a form and even visit a virtual polling station.
Tuesday 19 May is also the deadline to apply for a postal vote or cancel
or request changes to your existing postal vote.
