Girls aged 11-19 can learn the art of self defence.
The course, available at Castle Place Leisure Centre, will provide young ladies with the physical skills needed to defend themselves. This will include identifying target areas on an attacker’s body as well as recognising danger and understanding the thinking process of an attacker.

The 10 week course is funded by the Community Sports Network through the Sports Unlimited Project and will start at Castle Place Leisure Centre, Level 5a Multi Storey Car Park, Trowbridge, on Monday 1st of June. The course will run every Monday 4.30pm – 5.30pm and will cost just £10 for the course or £1 per session.

Marcus Welford, General Manager of Castle Place Leisure Centre said: “We are pleased that by working with Wiltshire Council we are able to provide teenage girls with the chance to try something new that will help them be more active as well as learn the techniques to keep safe in future life.

“The funded programme means that we can offer this activity at an affordable rate and encourage young people to start and stay active”

Anyone wanting to take part in this unique opportunity should contact Castle Place Leisure Centre on 01225 762711. Participants must be female and aged between 11 - 19.
