Ernie Clark. Hilperton Division, Wiltshire Council.

The new council will meet next Tuesday.
My election address started 'The new council must be made to investigate kerbside collection of cardboard and plastic.' This was something that the Lib Dems also had in their manifesto, but I'm not sure about the Conservatives - I didn't actually see their full manifesto.

I intended to approach either Cllr. Carbin or another Independent to put this matter to the meeting on 16th June, but have been beaten to the post by three other councillors.

They have tabled the motion 'We wish to propose that Wiltshire Council actively pursue the policy of kerbside collection of plastic and cardboard throughout the county'.

It will be interesting to hear what the Conservative administration has got to say on this issue and I'm pleased that it is being looked at so soon.

I will report the outcome on this site next week.
