Marston Inns out of luck - again.
'No' to change of use for land at Paxcroft Mead.
For the fourth time (but the first time for this new committee) the attempt by Marston Inns to remove the legal requirement for medical facilities was refused. The committee did not feel that Marston had used 'all reasonable endeavours' to secure a medical use for the site.
As with previous committees, it was a unanimous decision.
Marston Inns is certain to take the decision to appeal, and we will then be in the hands of a planning inspector.
As a matter of interest the public response figures for medical centre or pub were 74%/26% against the pub. However, I must stress that the decision was made purely on the basis of whether 'all reasonable endeavours' had been used to secure the required use for the site. Any preferences for the final use of the site did not form any part of the committee's deliberations.
