New directory to help those searching for care.
Finding care information in the area has been made a little easier with the publication of the latest Wiltshire Care Services Directory.

The directory, which is published by Care Choices Ltd. in association with Wiltshire Council, is packed with useful information that explains all available care options and includes comprehensive listings of care providers for residential care or care in your own home. There is also guidance on paying for care and what financial assistance is available from the government.

Sue Redmond, corporate director of community services at Wiltshire Council, said: "The Care Services Directory is a great source of information for anyone who needs to find out about options for care."

Robert Chamberlain, publisher of the directory, said: "When choosing care you should be armed with the most up-to-date information to help you decide which kind of care is most suitable, who can provide it and how it is to be funded."

Care Choices operate a free helpline service which provides a shortlist of care homes that match the individual preferences. The helpline can be reached on 0800 389 2077 and offers more detailed information about care providers, as well as answering specific questions; for example whether a home has scope for residents to keep pets.

To receive a free copy of the Wiltshire Care Services Directory 2009 simply call the Wiltshire Council Social Care Help Desk on 0300 456 0111 or email socialcarehelpdesk@wiltshire.gov.uk. It is also available in e-book format with a spoken word option via this link.
