Compared to other sectors, Trowbridge is performing well.

A few days ago, I attended a meeting of the Performance Committee of Wiltshire Police Authority at Melksham. Inspector Dave Cullop, from Trowbridge, gave an interesting presentation.

A few of the positive points he highlighted were:-

The availability of Police Community Support Officers has recently been 90% (i.e. they spent only 10% of their time working 'out of area').

The Neighbourhood Policing Teams are now re-engaging with their new communities following the re-alignment to have common boundaries with the new WC electoral divisions.

Despite the 'drink culture' in Wiltshire's market towns, the county is the 4th safest county in England.
