Whilst cold food can be sold twenty four hours a day, hot food cannot.

'Favorite Chicken & Ribs' of Market Street in Trowbridge wants to close later. They've applied for a variation to their license to allow hot food sales untill 4.00am on Sunday to Thursday nights and untill 5.00am on Friday and Saturday nights. At present they can open untill 1.30 and 4.30am respectively.

However, the police licensing officer has objected because of the potential for an increase in crime and disorder. The police claim that "The premises has, over the past 6 months, been the subject of crime and disorder. Measures in place to promote the licensing objectives under the existing license have not been fully implemented by the license holder and failure to comply with conditions has contributed to undetected crimes." They go on to suggest the premises should improve before any extension to the existing hours can be allowed.

A hearing to decide the matter will be held at the Bradley Road office of Wiltshire Council on Tuesday Aug 25th at 11.00am.
