Trowbridge Rugby Football Club (TRFC) had a meeting with the developers wishing to buy their current ground at Green Lane, Trowbridge yesterday. A level results were published yesterday and GCSE come out August 21.

Households and councils are continuing to respond to calls to recycle more and cut the amount of waste that is sent to landfill sites. The latest municipal waste statistics from Defra show that recycled household waste has risen to 33.9 per cent and landfill waste has gone down from 16.9 to 15.8m tonnes. Household waste has also gone down from 25.8m to 25.6m tonnes. Amazing findings! We pay for a statement of the blindingly obvious...

The Hilperton & Staverton Neighbourhood Tasking Group will be meeting at 7 pm on Wednesday 13th August at Hilperton Village Hall, Whaddon Lane.
Part of the meeting will be to decide the priorities for the neighbourhood policing team for the next few months. Local Freight Assessment and Priority Mechanism – priority routes.

Wiltshire County Council is asking residents to put out their black boxes for kerbside recycling and wheeled bins for garden waste every time there is a collection. WWDC contractors are due to commence the post traveller clean-up.

The planning application by Selwood Housing Society for affordable housing in Broughton Gifford has finally received planning permissiion from West Wiltshire District Council. The monthly meeting of Broughton Gifford PC takes place this evening.

Councils have until 15th September to let the government know if they want a slice of the £140 million fund set up to provide free swimming for the over-60s and under-16s. A 'progress' meeting is due to be held.

A meeting has been arranged for 6.15pm tomorrow (Thursday 31st July) at the temporarily closed swing bridge. A worse day for myself or your parish councillors would be hard to think of. All military activity is suspended for a week or two.
